Art of the marionette in Asia

The art of the marionette is popular in many countries of Asia. The Indonesian game of shade of the marionette was well-known like Wayang Kulit that originated of Bali and Java. The term Wayang Kulit has derived from the words “Warang” that the ghost or the shade meant and “Kulit” that meant the leather and when it shades together meant putting of the leather. They used figures of two dimensions, the round plane and were done with the skin of a buffalo. The small sticks tied to these figures were planted in the piston rods of the banana that were placed underneath a screen of the cloth on which the shade of the marionette casted. The right of the stage was occupied by the good characters; where as the left side were occupied by the incorrect authors. To they maneuver them to the titiriteros know like “Dalang”. The art of the marionette very exhausted at that time, the used demonstration to ignite at night by nine hours with the titiritero that sat down to legs crossed without a wink. It was hoped that Rebab played, the two-chained violin, with a hand and even would handle to the Chempala or the sequences of the marionette with another hand. The subjects of these demonstrations were the Javanese versions of two hundred histories of the Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata that respectively talk about like the cycle of Branch and cycle of Pandawa. The marionette demonstration that implied three-dimensional marionettes was well-known like Wayang Golek.

Puppetry of the shade took its complete form in dynasty from ear. That was well-known like “the age of 1000 hospitalities”. The two diverse classes of puppetry are Cantonese and Pekingese. They differentiate in the production from marionettes and the way of which these marionettes are in favor being placed with the aid of the bars, although the subject is equal in both the techniques, that is to say, turn around histories with the elements of the fiction adventurer. The heavy leather was used in the manufacture of marionettes of the Cantonese, to create a good shade. The colors were used to represent diverse characters. A brave man had a red face color where because an honest character had a black face. The bar was tied perpendicular the head of the marionette to make them less visible during the operation of the shade. The marionettes were greater than marionettes of Pekingese. On the one hand the marionettes of Pekingese were slighter and were done outside the fine and translucent leather that made them more fragile. They were equally good for the operation of the shade because they were colored very alive. The fine bars were tied to the neck of the figure and they were not visible during the operation. The Chinese titiriteros had a superstition that the marionettes will come at night to the life if the head were maintained intact with the body. The head was separated so of the body and the body was stored in a box. With respect to time, puppetry of the shade began to prosper and reached its premium in century XI.

The Puppetry bloomed in the Indian villages and it became an integral part of the popular culture. The marionettes of India can be classified ample whereas the marionettes of the bar, of the thread of spiral, the shade and the glove that become outside the material like the leather, the wood, wools or the cloth. These marionettes have generally a small body with an exceptional head with the great eyes to add enchantment and personality. The bandit has dark eyes characteristic of the spectacles; the hero of history has light eyes. The hands become outside the stuffed purses of the cloth with the hands and most of the marionettes do not have any leg that are replaced by a long suit. The exceptions are those that they must mount horses. The masculine marionettes are made to use the turbans and to persecute the bad boy, fights and even to fall deads and feminine marionettes they have braided ponytails and to maintain skirts in his hand whereas it dances. The head-titiritero moves marionettes with the aid of sequences or bars and provides the voice generally and the voices and the songs of the female are provided by their wife and cabritos. The inhabitants of the states Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa and Rajasthán well are known to have dominated the art of puppetry. The disadvantage of puppetry is that the face expression lacks. Exaggeration and the distortion are due to provide to reach the best results. But proportionate humor is incomparable that makes this unique irreplaceable art in itself.
